The idea
Most online image compressors work the same way: you upload an image, a server shrinks it, you download it. Simple — but with a fundamental problem: your images end up on someone else's server.
That may seem irrelevant for a vacation photo. But what about your company's product shots, document scans, personal images or confidential graphics? Who guarantees the provider really deletes them after compression?
JNRT Pixel solves this radically: compression happens entirely in your browser. Not one byte of your images leaves your device. There is no upload, no server, no cloud. The modern HTML5 Canvas API makes it possible.
How it works
Supported formats
JNRT Pixel supports every common web image format:
- JPG/JPEG — lossy compression, ideal for photos
- PNG — lossless re-encoding, transparency preserved
- WebP — modern format, best compression efficiency
- GIF — re-encoded as PNG (browser canvas doesn't support GIF encoding)
- SVG — whitespace minimization strips comments and excess characters
