15 predefined sizes for every platform — Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, WhatsApp and more. Cover, Contain or Stretch, with a configurable background.
In shortSocial media image sizes — Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest in one step.
Every social media platform has its own optimal image sizes, and they change more often than most brand managers can track. Rolling out a campaign across five platforms now means a dozen asset variants per image — different aspect ratios, different resolutions, and some platforms demanding specific frame rates for animated content.
This tool generates every common social media size from a single source image — locally in your browser, no upload, in one step.
Supported platforms and sizes (mid-2026).Instagram: feed post (1080×1080 or 1080×1350), story (1080×1920), reel cover (1080×1920). X (formerly Twitter): feed image (1600×900), header (1500×500), profile (400×400). LinkedIn: feed image (1200×627), header (1584×396), profile (400×400). YouTube: thumbnail (1280×720), banner (2560×1440). TikTok: video cover (1080×1920). Pinterest: standard pin (1000×1500), story pin (1080×1920). Facebook: feed post (1200×630), header (820×312), profile (180×180).
How the generator works.Upload a high-resolution source (ideally at least 2400 px on the long edge). The tool computes a fitting crop for each target — when ratios differ (e.g. your 4:3 source vs. a 9:16 story), it picks the center region. You can override the crop per platform.
Format recommendation. For social posts, JPG at quality 85 is the proven default — platforms re-compress on upload anyway. You can upload PNG to try to avoid platform compression (mostly futile — Instagram & co. usually convert to JPG with their own quality settings you can't control).
Platform requirements drift. The sizes listed reflect mid-2026. Platforms like Instagram tweak their recommendations one or two times a year. If you use this tool a year from now, check the official help pages. We update the tool regularly — full overview in social media image sizes 2026.
Aspect ratio strategy. With a single source rolling out across many platforms there's a trick: shoot or design the original at 4:5 with a centered subject and generous margins. From that, 1:1 (Instagram feed), 4:5 (Instagram portrait), 9:16 (story/reel) and 16:9 (YouTube/X) can all be extracted with minor tweaks.
