The profile banner

The 1200 × 480 banner (5:2) is the big eye-catcher of the channel page. Because it's cropped differently depending on screen width, the usual rule applies: important things centered, treat the outer edges as decoration. Channel name, logo, or social handles belong in the central, safe zone.

Panels: your channel's menu bar

Panels are the clickable info tiles below the stream (About me, rules, donations, social links). They're 320 pixels wide, the height is free. Their appeal lies in consistency:

  • Same width (320 px) for all — otherwise the row looks messy.
  • Consistent style — same colors, same font, same icon language.
  • PNG, so text and icons stay sharp.
  • Under 2.9 MB — the smallest limit on Twitch, which graphic panels easily exceed.

This is exactly where compression pays off: a panel with a gradient and text can be over the limit — running it through the compression tool (or PNG optimization) brings it under and loads faster.

The offline image

When you're not live, the player shows your offline image. It should fill the player exactly: 1920 × 1080 px (16:9). A good offline image says when you're back online and where else to find you — it's your channel's most common "closed door" and deserves care. Bring it to 1920 × 1080 first with the resize tool.

Consistency across all graphics

A recognizable channel uses the same color world and visual language across banner, panels, and offline image. A fixed color palette (two or three colors) is the easiest route there — the same logic as with story highlight covers. All graphics run through resizing and compression browser-local, no upload.

In short

  • Banner 1200 × 480, offline image 1920 × 1080.
  • Panels 320 px wide, PNG, under 2.9 MB (the tight limit).
  • Center important banner content — edges get cropped.
  • One color palette across everything for a recognizable channel.
